The peripheral nervous system involves the parts of the nervous system beyond the brain and spine. Neuromuscular specialists like Ohio State’s W. David Arnold, MD, treat a variety of disorders including muscular disorders such as muscular dystrophy, polymyositis and dermatomyositis, peripheral neuropathies such as Charcot Tooth, and neuromuscular junction disorders such as myasthenia gravis. Symptoms of these disorders may include general weakness, fatigue, numbness, tingling, and sometimes pain. To develop a definitive diagnosis and individual treatment plan, each patient undergoes a comprehensive evaluation, including medical history, physical exam and targeted testing. As more is understood about the causes of neuromuscular disease, better treatments are being developed to stop and reverse some damage or improve symptoms. There is quite a hefty list of video games that use a disease, virus or parasite infection as their starting point and advance the story from there on. For example, all the zombie games explain the infection through viral contamination or some RPG races are created as a result of a plague that affected them, like the case with the Undead from Warcraft III. In today’s video we wanted to find out what the 10 most unusual video game diseases are and how they affect the host. The criteria used is, of course, the degree of uniqueness each game illness has, as well as the symptoms manifested.

Malaria Infected Mosquitoes Express Enhanced Attraction to Human Odor
http://journals.plos.org/plosone/article?id=10.1371/journal.pone.0063602
“There is much evidence that some pathogens manipulate the behaviour of their mosquito hosts to enhance pathogen transmission. However, it is unknown whether this phenomenon exists in the interaction of Anopheles gambiae sensu stricto with the malaria parasite, Plasmodium falciparum – one of the most important interactions in the context of humanity, with malaria causing over 200 million human cases and over 770 thousand deaths each year.”
Why vector mosquitoes don’t get affected by the viruses/plasmodium they transmit?
https://www.researchgate.net/post/Why_vector_mosquitoes_dont_get_affected_by_the_viruses_plasmodium_they_transmit
“In most cases of biological/obligatory transmission, there is a mutualistic or a symbiotic relationship of some kind between insect vectors and transmitted pathogens, which usually indicates a long evolutionary relationship. In a few cases however, the pathogen affects the vector negatively but not in a very serious way since in many cases the vector is the only way for pathogen transmission in nature.”
