    • Is It a Good Idea to Lift Weights With a Torn Rotator Cuff?

      injuries No Comments »

Don’t lift weights if you have a torn rotator cuff until you know it won’t hurt and that any muscle imbalances have been resolved.

Lifting weights adds tension to the rotator cuff tendons. And if they’re not healed yet, then it will hurt them more.

Once your rotator cuff tear is healing and feels better, then it would still be a good idea to wait on weight lifting like you used to because those exercises may have been setting up the rotator cuff tear.

Take some time to heal your rotator cuff and then to fix the muscle imbalance so that you can be sure to not to re-injure your rotator cuff again.

In this video Dr. David elaborates on answering the question, “Is it a good idea to lift weights with a torn rotator cuff?”
